Jakarta is the capital and largest city of Indonesia. The city is also culture, administrative and travel center of the island country. Jakarta is located on the northwest coast of Java island, an area of 661 square kilometers ans has a population of 9.58 million citizens. Despite the dirty air and traffic congestion, the capital of Indonesia can get you with a lot of interesting places. You can start tour with a visit to one of the largest mosques in Southeast Asia – Mesjid Istiqlal and the Catholic Church “Holy Mary”, which was built in the 19th century. Be sure to walk to the Square of Liberty – Medan Mederka, which is paradise oasis standing out from the hectic life and chaos in the capital. The square will impress you with exquisite palaces that surround the National Museum – another important stop on your tour. There is no way, when exploring the Indonesian capital to skip Chinatown and Antique Market, which awaits you with a colorful array of antiques and memorabilia from the carving. Take a trip to the park and “Taman Mini Indonesia”, created by the late widow of former President Suharto. By end of the day, you can immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a nightclub, savoring the dynamic night life of Jakarta.
